Hi Stephanie, the problem with all the ways that you mention to lose weight is that they are doomed to making you fatter - yes you read right! The reason is that most of them are unsustainable and you live your life wishing for the diet to end... well you have to know that when you start something you can't wait to end, that it's all going to come crashing down sooner or later. Many of these diets are so restrictive that they also change your body composition so that over time your body become better at storing fat because your metabolism is all messed up. So it's maybe not that there isn't a cure for Obesity - it's more that diets usually aren't.
