Exercise benefits and the benefits of play are enormous, both for healthy bodies, healthy minds and longevity. From both a psychological viewpoint (moving your body, active play and exercising help reduce stress and depression) as well as a physical view (your metabolic fitness, as well as what it does for your immune system, your brain and your heart). Now, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that some of you read that sentence and were either jolted to see play and exercise side by side line OR that you completely read over the word 'play.' It's sad that we so undervalue that exercise done with a spirit of playfulness might have health benefits from the 'feel good' biochemistry created that we seldom hear about.
