I'm not that hungry in the mornings, and I don't have much time before work anyway.
I hard-boil eggs on the weekend, peel them, and keep them in a bowl in the fridge so I can eat one in the morning when I'm having tea or coffee. I'm not hungry for the egg - I eat it because I know it's good to have protein first thing to control the energy level all day.
Eating the wrong thing in the morning can totally wreck your day.
Cereal seems like such a big production - boxes and cartons and sugar or fruit and bowls and spoons and dirty dishes sitting all day and for what? A little sugary soggy munch that does nothing for you. It's expensive, too.
I used to eat instant oatmeal because I know it's good for you, but it made me sooo hungry that by 10:30 or 11:00 a.m. my stomach was screaming and I could not concentrate. Then I'd eat like a pig and feel exhausted. That crazy hungry feeling stopped as soon as I quit eating oats - it was like being set free.
For me, a "big breakfast" - pancakes, eggs, sausage, toast, all that stuff - is a once in a long while thing, usually if I'm eating out for brunch later in the day. I often follow it with a bloody mary, because if you're going to splurge I believe you should go all the way.
