Dear Cari, I am a 24 year old who has been on and off weight watchers for as long as I can remember. After reading your website today I have decided to quit dieting once and for all!
It's easy in our society today to feel that our value is determined by the number on the scale. I am encouraged to change my mind so I can love myself for who I am not how much I weigh. Thank you so muchfor your website. It is such an inspiration to me! Thank you!
By the way....I just wanted to say the last few days have been so freeing! I really feel like I am making some great changes! A couple of days ago I decided to go through my house and get rid of all the things that were just bringing me down. What a great feeling it was!
I found a strength inside of me I never knew I had. At first it was the weight loss books (sugar busters, weight watchers, and some book about the food pyramid)...Then I went through my closet and tossed out everything that was too small or just not comfortable. If I am going to feel good about myself than I have to feel good in the things that I wear.
After that it was my collection of recipes...I was amazed how many "low fat" or "low point" recipes I had laying around. I can't believe I would make things just because they were low fat or low in points.
I no longer want to eat things just because they are healthy...I want to eat them because I like them!!!!! I know I will have my ups and downs along the way, but I am looking forward to discovering myself and having a joy-filled life with lots of love and laughter!
